The Mechanical Claims Intern is responsible for answering inbound calls from various automotive entities such as dealerships and independent repair facilities, as well as contract holders. The intern will assist customers with inquiries and play a key role in the mechanical claims process. Position is based in St. Louis, MO.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
•Answering customer/dealer inquiries and help process automotive based claims.
•Handle customer inquires that consist of determining contract coverage, referring customers to repair facilities and overall general customer service questions.
•Determine the appropriate authorization amount based on contract guidelines.
•Use multiple computer programs to process claims, review policies and procedures, labor times, and retrieve documents. Claims mostly consist of failures to basic automotive components, such as starters, alternators, water pump, gaskets, emission components, etc.
•Utilize AllData and Mitchell Labor Guides to obtain labor times for specific mechanical repairs.
•Responsible for handling pre-paid maintenance coupons and road hazard tire claims
•Provide individualized customer service of a high-standard professional level and process claims with a high degree of accuracy
•Must be a current Ranken Technical College student
•Must major in Automotive Maintenance Technology, Automotive Collision Repair Technology, High Performance Racing Technology or the Diesel Technology program
•Automotive experience a plus
•Must be able to communicate effectively with the ability to provide excellent customer service
•Must be proficient on computers and windows based programs
•Ability to work through and manage difficult customer situations
•Must be willing to work up to 30 hours per week
